KEEP SENDING TEXAS STRENGTH!!!

Texas, your world has been devastating and we can not even begin to imagine what you are going through right now. We here at O'hairs want you to know that with what little voice we have, we will still do all we can to help.

*Please see the Happy Helpers tab on home page for all links we have available for Texas.

In addition to the links that we provided, please remember that there are many local places that are loading trucks and in need of many items, even pet supplies. Your local Fire Department and Police Department should have contacts available for you.
Also, you local rescue center may have a list of pet items needed.

We are in such amazement of all the heroes out there, taking their time to save the animals.

Texas, Keep sending us your request, your needs and keep asking for help.  Let the world help, we truly all want to help despite what I believe is put out there. We all want to make a difference.  This is when I believe, Mr. Rogers said it best...

SADIE SAYS GOODNIGHT FROM THE FARM...

Long day for a farm girl,
I'm completely tuckered out.
But it's been such a good day,
Not a minute to complain about.

I've been with Dad all day
And we've worked really hard.
We've checked the crops and fed the horses,
Then we mowed the yard.

The sun's been hot but the pond felt great.
Now I'm going to sleep cause it's getting late.

AND I KNOW...... Tomorrow
will be as good as Today.

HAPPY DOG SPOTLIGHT!!!

PEANUT
Meet Peanut Fisher and his proud Poppy! It is amazing how a pup can take after their pup-parent. Ok maybe not the hair so much but this is one happy pup, just like his dad. Serving the Fisher family goes way back for me. When I was at a little 400 sq. ft. Grooming shop, where I groomed Jeff's wonderful Bassett Hound, Molly.
I have watched the Fisher family grow and change all the while being one of the best most balanced pup-parents I know.  Peanut goes with the flow, loves his friends at Happy Dog. Some days he chooses t-cup playground and some days he chooses to chill in the blue room, always tail wagging! I will miss his sweet face and loooong body.

LET"S GO FOR A WALK!!! Tips from Miss Debbie!!

Image result for dog walking free clip art

As promised directions on how to walk your dog properly:

Dog walking is the act of a person walking with a dog, typically from the dog's residence and then returning. This constitutes part of the daily exercise regime needed to keep a dog healthy.[1] It also provides exercise and companionship for the walker.
When I googled dog walking this is the definition I found. Let me humbly give you mine.
A dog needs stimulation(physical and mental), direction, and correction(beyond food, water and shelter)that  is what a momma gives her pup.
When you start out on a walk
1. Do let the pup potty, however keep a brisk pace. Stop to potty(pick it up)!return to pace.
 - no time to smell, wander, lead you.
- you control the walk!
- different pups have different thresholds. You will see ur pup wanting to slow, do not slow. Then shortly after that go ahead and slow pace- when YOU say it's time.
(Keep in mind this is for young healthy pup, not elderly,  sick, or overweight pup).
If you have any questions and want a consultation please feel free to message me.
Best of Luck

HAPPY DOG SPOTLIGHT!! HUNTER W.

Meet Hunter W. as we call him at Happy Dog. He is a senior enjoying his second puppy-hood with mom and her jeep! He loves nothing more than a good hill climb, a buzz around sonic and chilled under the stars. One day at Happy Dog, I looked out and saw him leaning to one side. My heart skipped a beat. My worst fear was, stroke. A quick trip to his vet, a little time and meds and he is back to himself. Did I mention he is a Jack Russell and has the tenacity of two?  Happy Dog would not be the same without this boy and his biweekly visits. We love him and his entire family. They are family to us.

Happy Dog Spotlight!! Faith!!

FAITH

Trying to live up to her name, Faith while being kissed is a little difficult for this good girl. Her entire goal is to be the good and faithful companion she believes she was born to do. The eyes pretty much says it all, not only in this shot but in every look she has.
Gonna miss her. πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎ

I am always looking for a better way to serve my pups and pup-parents. So when I saw a business card for a mobile veterinarian in our area, I was on it.
Hard to believe we started talking about partnering close to a year ago. It has been great. Dr. Richey, has my attitude towards serving. It is about the betterment and life quality of her patient. The amount of time she and her assistant, Dana take with each one is wonderful.
There are so many different facets and benefits to this in-home care, they are difficult to name. One being many more pets can now have preventative care than before in our area. Some farm dogs just don't wanna go bye bye! It is a huge blessing for the elderly that no longer drive and depend on others for transportation.
One area that I was blown alway by was not only the need for in-home euthanasias but Dr. Richey feels blessed to be able to provide this to the pet and the pet-parent. It becomes a small memorial service, right where the pet loved to be.
The mobile unit serves our daycare dogs as well as a large area in Southern Indiana. Click on the link to learn more about this great service.
