I tried to think of what I would like for my birthday and during our Blog meeting. Miss Debbie came up with the perfect idea!!! A HAPPY birthday announcement on our blog for our blog readers pets!!!!

Today I am so excited not only because it is my very own birthday, but my Riley Girl's birthday today too!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RILEY!!!

Meet My Riley, SO excited to introduce this one! I had just lost my Brady boy and I was a mess and I believed immediately after losing him there was a dog out there meant for me and I went looking, with a purpose of finding this dog that I believed Brady left for me. I found her a week later, in a cage in the small town of Clarksville, Indiana at a pet store at an Adoption event to raise money for the Kentucky Humane Society. It was love at first sight. That little bundle of fun was showing off big time and doing everything to make me laugh, the key to my heart.. laughter. From then, she became ours.  After an immediate battle with Parvo and almost losing her less than a week after adopting her,  she recovered from it like a champion.  Just recently she lost all use of her back legs and had a surgery to repair her disc in her back and she rocked that like it was nothing as well! Riley is finally back to good as new and full of pure Rotten. Riley makes me laugh more than I can even count on a daily basis and so many times she has saved me from falling into my anxiety. I sense she even feels it so strongly now that she even knows when it happens and can pull me out by trying to paw at me and jumping up on me to get my attention to her. Then it just seems to melt away. Riley has no training in this, I feel it is just that "dog instinct" that we all wish maybe more humans in the world have. She gets me, and I get Riley. I feel like we understand each other if that makes any sense and I absolutely adore her. Riley never replaced my Brady boy, she was sent to me to help me with my next chapter in life and I will forever be in debt to her for that. So, raise your treats and help me make a toast to My sweet Riley. Happy Birthday you Rotten little girl, I love you forever.

HAPPY Sunday from Ohairs Happy Dog

HAPPY Sunday Everyone!!! 

 What a busy week and weekend we have all had here at Blog Headquarters!!  Miss Debbie is busy finishing up last touches before her departure from O'Hairs Happy Dog Daycare on September 5th. We are sad to see her go but so excited to follow along on her new adventure of retirement. The endless opportunities that she has knocking at her door already show us that we will have a busy schedule following along with so many updates on her new ventures! Bill and Rosie are so excited to tag along and see what kind of fun Oo'Mom will find for them!




Kelly has been working away at her other job so much and enjoying her time off at the farm with Adam and farm girl Sadie and the boys "Nugglet" and Bee Gee. Kelly has been really enjoying taking rides in the car that her parents started dating in! Adam and Kelly have taken it out every weekend for a drive and grab some lunch and sometimes even our very own farm dog Sadie gets to tag along!! 

"Nanny" Diana, has been spending her days outside a lot with Buddy enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having. Buddy has been playing lots of ball with "Papa." Buddy has learned that if he wants to go for a car ride that all he has to do is "go tell papa" and he goes over and nudges Dad till he gives in, Then they get to go for a ride and sometimes a stop for a cone!

I have been down with a migraine so my weekend hasn't been as fun as everyone else's but I had all 3 of my dogs hanging right with me the whole time. It's about time you guys meet my dogs... here is a little preview....

CiCi girl knows just who she is and where she is.

The smile never leaves her sweet face, even when

saying goodbye to her best friend as she heads off

to college.

CiCi know over 200 words and can spell three of them.

Never says a bad word about anyone and loves treats.

BILL'S CORNER!!!! Let's meet more of my family!!!

 This is my cousin BUDDY! Buddy is a labradoodle like my Rosie "bell"! Buddy and I go way back even before he became my cousin. Buddy was a PAAWS dog!!!  He needed a new home so I told Oo'mom that I know just the home for Buddy! I know that my special "HAM" (that's what I call my aunt because my brother Ben couldn't pronounce Aunt so he called her "Hant" and now his babies, my O'Babies think he says "Ham" I think he said "Ham" too   and I just love my O'Babies so I like to be like them. and 'Hunk" (same reason just Uncle-Hunkle-Hunk) needed another doodle in their lives. My "Ham" and Hunk" had just lost their sweet Labradoodle before Buddy to cancer so, Buddy came at the perfect time. Buddy was just what they needed. They love doodles as much as they love me! So mom sent them a picture and .....well....here are pictures to prove how happy they all turned out. Buddy loves to go to the beach and swim with me in Florida. We are best friends and cousins. I'm glad I chose buddy's new home.

I THINK I MADE A GOOD MATCH!!!!

Buddy is so funny and LOVES to play ball, and go for walks with "Hunk" and go for car rides. Buddy also LOVES going to the beach and the dog parks to play with friends! 

"HAM" is also one of the Blog Contributors on this site! Buddy calls her "Nanny" and so do her Grandkids. Buddy's "Nanny" has 3 Girl O'Babies and 5 Dog O'Babies!!! Our Blog Contributor Dana is her Daughter and has all 3 of her O'Babies and 3 of her Dog O'Babies with 2 Dog O'Babies from her son Dave and his wife Amanda. We love our family and are happy we can all have this together and they let me have my own CORNER!!!

Our very own Blog Contributor and owner of Ohairs Happy Dog Inc. will be a guest judge at this event! Great Job PAAWS and We are all so HAPPY and proud of you Miss Debbie!! We can't wait to hear all about it!!

HAPPY SOLAR ECLIPSE EVERYONE!!

I am out on a journey with my Oo'Dad and Oo'Mom and we are trying to see if we can make it to see the dark or something. Oo'Dad and my brother Ben tried to explain to the O'Babies (that's what Oo'Mom and Oo'Dad call their grandbabies and they love those O'Babies and so do Rosie "bell" and I! ) and I just didn't get it. What I was thinking about actually was my Oo'Mom and how proud I am to work with her. When I work with my mom I also get to meet new people that also love to help save animals. 

I am proud to work with PAAWS and I would love to let more people know about all the help they do all day to help my friends. 

Also, I think they earn a spot on our HAPPY HELPERS spot!! That means when you share our blog, there will now be a direct link to PAAWS on the homepage of this blog and you and all our other readers can learn about all the hard work they do!!! 

My mom wrote this story about working with PAAWS and it makes me HAPPY!!! Please share so we can help as many animals as we can!!

"Let me tell you why you should support PAAWS! They are local, they rarely bring in any dogs from another state to our already saturated homeless situation. They continue to work together as a group remembering their mission statement. I have been an animal advocate for many years in this area. I have seen the workings of most local groups. It has been my experience that when an animal or an animal owner needs them, they do not send them elsewhere. They are true humanitarians as well as a philanthropist.
Yesterday, I had a weepy human show up at my counter needing help. No money, no gas, three dogs in her car and no place to go. She had been sent to me by a local rescue that was unable to help her or her pets. I went out to her car, yep all her personal belongings jammed into it along with two small Chihuahuas and one very large Rottweiler looking perplexed.
Now I don't know this woman's story but she needed help. Her dogs were going to need help before the night was over. You know; food, water all the basics we take for granted most days.
I could not daycare her pups because they were a little overdue on vaccinations. I did what I could for her and then I called my friend at PAAWS. Did she suggest another rescue or say she wished she could help......NO! She not only found a temporary foster, she found lodging for the needy Pup-parent through another PAAWS volunteer and within one hour of this weepy mom asking for help.....she had set up lodging for her pups, new vaccinations ordered, a safe place to stay and a job. That is what a rescue is all about. Doing what it takes, even when the cameras are not around.
I am proud to have PAAWS on my speed dial. That is where your donations go when you give to PAAWS. They have never let me or a needy dog down yet."

LET'S BAKE SOME HAPPY!!

I go to the store, and every time I get lost in the dog aisle, wanting to spoil them with all and yet wondering, exactly what are the treats we are giving our dog babies? So, I come up with a new plan for the blog!!! LET'S BAKE SOME HAPPY!
I have tried to make a few and with pretty good feedback from the dogs. Gretzky, my sweet boy always thanks me and tells me I am "making a difference."  Riley has to worry about what everyone else gets first before she will take one but she seemed to enjoy them as well. Now, my sweet tiny little Sam, she has always had issues with her stomach so, we rarely give her much other than her food because she usually vomits anything other than. That makes me sad so I give her the tiniest pinch so she won't feel left out and she always does just fine with that.
So, HAPPY readers, I believe that soon we will start trying treats and letting the dogs vote!! Our very own blog contributors are going to try out recipes, test them on their dogs and we will update you with the results. We don't just strive for HAPPY in this blog, we also are looking to help you out with good info and with all the dogs in our family, I promise, there will be plenty of judges and we can hopefully help you find a good fit for your dog with all our different personalities we have here at the blog. Have any good recipes? Email them to me!!
